The Lloyd Hotel and Cultural Embassy is the first 1-to-5 star hotel in the world. It was born out of a curiosity for cultural baggage, a historic building, a deep knowledge of Dutch design traditions, groundbreaking explorers and a zest for making guests feel welcome.

With the upmarket Eastern Docklands at the front and the ultra-urban access point to the city centre at the back, Lloyd Hotel is situated in a freestanding monumental building dating from 1921 by architect Evert Breman.
The hotel is conveniently located at the east end of central station; with direct tram lines to the station (5 mins) and the city centre (Leidseplein 10 mins) on the doorstep. Cars coming from the ring road are two traffic lights away from the large parking facilities. The architectural marvels of the hotel’s surroundings are easily inspected on foot, on bicycle or with a tour guide. They offer best practice examples of the typical Dutch need for compact city planning, with stunning solutions.
